Propeller: A Spirited Journey Around the World

Studija Creata's Award-Winning Beverage Label Design Inspired by Aviation

The Propeller collection stands out in the market with its unique theme of air travel. The design appeals to male customers, reflecting quality and experience. Each bottle in the collection tells a story about its origin country, making it easily identifiable. The character of the pilot traveller, featured prominently on the labels, adds a personal touch to the design.

The design's unique properties are brought to life through numerous illustrations, inscriptions resembling aviation badges, and sketches serving as cocktail recipes. These elements, combined with various tones of coloured foil, different lacquers, patterns and embossing, create a multifaceted design that invites consumers to examine the product closely and engage their imagination.

The Propeller collection was realized using flexo printing, cold foil, glossy and matt varnish, and embossing. The technical specifications of the design include a capacity of 500 ml and dimensions of 75 (w) x 295 (h) mm. The design process began in 2013, and the collection is expected to expand with other beverages in the future.

The design team, led by Asta Kauspedaite of Studija Creata, drew inspiration from their personal aviation experiences. "Flying a hot air balloon I have met a lot of wonderful inspiring people. I embodied them in the character of Propeller’s pilot," says Kauspedaite. The challenge was to create a unified range of associated products, while at the same time emphasizing the distinctiveness and individual features of each of them.

The Propeller collection is a testament to Studija Creata's innovative approach to design. It not only offers consumers a high-quality product but also an engaging experience that inspires discoveries of new flavours and blends. The design's success is reflected in its recognition with the Golden A' Packaging Design Award, granted to outstanding creations that advance art, science, design, and technology.
